About Ski Jumping Insider Corner

Ski Jumping Insider Corner was born from a passion to support and inform parents whose children are involved in the thrilling sport of ski jumping. I am hoping to become a reliable resource and share my knowledge of news, tips, and community updates in the Central Division.

And who am I? Hi! I'm Alana Maki-Foust. I've been around the ski jumps for almost 40 years! I started jumping in Coleraine at age 4. My dad was a long time coach in Coleraine and he and my uncles all jumped. I still dabble a bit on the small hills because it's so much fun! For the last 10 years I coached and ran a small program in Cameron, WI and we were a feeder program to Eau Claire. My time in Cameron has come to and end and now we are officially Flying Eagles (Eau Claire). You will find me at the hills on the jumps helping/coaching my youngest daughter Caiya and any other small kids that are around. I can often be found on the judges stand during the tournament as I am a certified judge. I'm currently serving on the Central Committee which is elected at the panel meeting in the spring by club delegates.

Insights from the jumps

This blog features regular updates, articles, and analyses on various aspects of ski jumping. I strive to provide valuable content that helps parents navigate the sport and celebrate their children's progress.
